|5 Biological resource use

|The signs directly related to hunting activity were observed at an average of 0.05 signs/km. Signs of hunting, as well as all human activities, are more abundant in the peripheral areas to the west, south, and east, which are closer to roads and villages. The central area appears to be less affected by human activities ([[#R01435|N'Goran et al. 2020]]).

|In November 2017, WWF signed a partnership agreement with the Government of Congo to co-manage the park. Under this agreement, WWF committed to implementing a conservation program that includes biological and socio-economic assessments of the park, defining an appropriate zoning plan for the park and its surrounding areas in collaboration with stakeholders, developing and implementing the park's management plan, supporting anti-poaching efforts, and focusing particularly on the conservation of great apes, elephants, and other flagship species ([[#R01435|N'Goran et al. 2020]]).
